I have to comment on the Cutler situation. I do like him a lot, but they gave up way too much. The Bears need help in so many other areas.
People will say that Cutler put up numbers that no Bear quarterback has done in a while, but he had receivers to throw to. Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal and Tony Sheffler to name a few. The Bears do not.
Orton did a fine job last year and the Bears could've and should've built around him. He is a young guy just as Cutler.
The Bears need o-line help (no Orlando Pace doesn't count), receivers as I mentioned before, improvment on the defensive side (they aren't getting any younger) and help for your best player, Matt Forte.
The Bears find it not necessary to address those issues. Instead, they give up a first round pick this year and next, as well as, a third round this year.
I only believe in trading first round picks if you are only a player away from getting you over the hump.
The Bears need more than that.
I salute the Denver Broncos and declare them the winner in all of this. The 12th and 18th pick this year and two first rounders next year. They have a lot to work with and to build on.
