The Joke That is the NFL Combine

An unnecessary event, the NFL combine only displays athletic ability in a perfect environment.
Last time I checked they all are football players.
When are there perfect conditions for football?
A guy’s 4.4 40 yd dash won’t do him any good in January, in the snow, in Foxboro, Green Bay or Chicago.
It has always amazed me how a guy’s stock dropped when he hasn’t played another game. His stats didn’t change, he didn’t run a wrong route, he didn’t miss a block or a tackle.
I also love how Todd McShay and Mel Kiper have their top prospects for the NFL draft at the beginning of the college football season and it changes 40 times throughout the year.
Let’s leave it alone. Let the kids work out and rest. Let their play speak for itself and we’ll see them on draft day.
When are teams going to learn to trust what they see on the field? That’s what matters.

USA Today has a tool that allows people to view where all NFL draft picks have come from since 1988, they display a map and allow the search to be used by the state in which they played high school and college, as well as, the conference they played in and gives a complete list of all draft picks alphabetically.

This tool can be very helpful for anyone interested in the information. It breaks it down for you in many different ways and is very easy to use.

In my project on the Chicago Publice League banning away fans from games due to violence, a similar tool could be used to show the break down of violence at the schools.

My broadcast partner is going to be incorporated in the project by us both working together and sharing ideas to help get the best product. Two head are definitely better than one. She might see something that I don't or have a good idea to help improve the story.
